June 17 & 24, 2025
Have you ever wondered why we do what we do at Mass? Do you find yourself daydreaming and getting distracted at Mass because it has become so mundane and possibly boring to you? If so, we have a class for you! In this two-part class we will examine the Theology of the Holy Sacrifice and the historical roots of the Mass. The Mass is the Re-Presentation of Jesus Christ on the Cross. The Mass is the Sacrifice of the New Law in which Christ, through the ministry of the priest, offers Himself to God in an unbloody manner under the appearances of bread and wine. It is most pleasing and obligatory as Catholic Christians for us to attend and fully participate in the celebration of the Holy Mass.
In this course Fr. McAlister will walk you through the 4 primary parts of the Mass to better understand the holiness of the Mass and its Theology. He will be drawing from the works and research of Dr. Brant Pitre in his presentations.
Please join us in the Church at 7:00 p.m. on the following dates:
- Tuesday, June 17 – Introductory Rites and the Liturgy of the Word
- Tuesday, June 24 – Liturgy of the Eucharist and the Concluding Rites
